Tag Your Grandkid Days with #grandkidsguide — Join the Community
We're building a community around grandparent-grandkid days in Fairfield County. Tag your outings with #grandkidsguide on Instagram or X — your moment could be featured on the site.
Grandkid days are worth documenting. Not for social media points — but because the moments you think you’ll remember often fade faster than you expect. The ice cream face at age 5. The way they ran toward the water. The afternoon they sat completely still watching the herons at Mianus.
We want to see them. And we want to share them.
The #grandkidsguide Community
We’re building a running feed of real grandparent-grandkid moments from across Fairfield County — and beyond. Photos from beaches, parks, museums, ice cream stops, farms, bowling alleys. The things you actually did, not the polished version.
To participate:
- Take a grandkid somewhere (anywhere)
- Snap a photo
- Post it on Instagram or X with #grandkidsguide
We review all tagged posts. The ones that are genuinely good — good photo, real moment, something other grandparents would smile at — get featured in our community feed at grandkidsguide.com/community/.
What We’re Looking For
We don’t need professional photography. We need real moments.
- Ice cream dripping before it’s even finished
- A grandkid who refused to leave the water table at Stepping Stones
- The face they made when they first saw the zoo
- The beach day that started as a 30-minute plan and turned into three hours
- The farm stand where they asked to come back every week
Tag the venue if you know it. Tag the town. Tell us how old the grandkids are. The specifics make the community feed useful to other grandparents planning similar days.
Follow Us
We post daily activity picks, new venue announcements, and community highlights:
Instagram: @grandkidsguide — venue photos, grandparent tips, seasonal picks. Best time to follow if you want one post a day that’s actually worth your time.
X: @grandsguide — same content, shorter format, plus CT-specific stuff that doesn’t make the IG cut.
The Promise
We only feature photos with credit to the original poster. We’ll never repost without attribution. If you post something and we want to feature it, we’ll reach out via the platform first.
If you’d rather not be featured but want to use the tag for your own archive, that’s completely fine — just say so in the caption and we’ll skip it.
