Our Mission
GrandkidsGuide is a curated venue directory that helps grandparents find genuinely great activities to share with their grandkids across Fairfield County CT, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk County NY. We research, vet, and categorize every listing with the grandparent-grandkid experience in mind — parking, atmosphere, accessibility, and whether kids of different ages will actually enjoy it.
We launched because grandparents deserve a resource built for them, not repurposed from generic "things to do" sites. The questions a grandparent asks are different: Is parking easy? Is it loud? Will a 4-year-old and a 10-year-old both have fun? Is it a reasonable drive from Stamford or Westport? We answer those questions.
How It Works
We source venues from Google, local knowledge, and community recommendations. Every venue goes through a basic qualification check before it makes the directory.
Each venue is tagged by category — restaurants, parks, ice cream, museums, mini golf, bowling, indoor play, zoos, and farms — and where possible by the ages of grandkids it works best for.
Every star rating and review count on this site comes straight from Google. We show the count beside the score, so a 4.8 from eleven people never reads the same as a 4.8 from two thousand.

Our Editorial Standards
Star ratings and review counts are Google's, shown with the review count so you can weigh them yourself. Opening hours come from the venue's own Google listing. Where we pass on a tip that reviewers repeat, we label it as coming from reviewers.
Notes marked as a visit are published with the name of the person who went and the date they went. Our publishing system will not accept a visit note without both. Anything we have not seen in person is not presented as though we had.
Guides are compiled from our venue directory with AI assistance and publish under the Grandkids Guide byline. A person reads every one before it goes live.
We do not hold admission prices, and we hold parking detail for only a small share of listings. Rather than guess at either, we link straight to the venue's own site. Hours, prices, and programs change, so confirm anything time-sensitive before you drive.
